That is a pretty good summation though. I have to watch the interview again. I kinda did a double take there, though. "What did she just say?" Also, note how she says that Russia was unprovoked. That is simply not the case. Sure, Russia's blame in all of this predates its abhorrent use of force in this case. However, militarily, Georgia did move into South Ossetia first. Russia's actions, while overly aggressive, were in fact "provoked" in that sense.
While it is true that Russia was greasin' the wheels for this by drumming up support and issuing passports in the Ossetian regions, it was still an incredibly stupid and poorly thought out move on the part of President Mikhail Saakashvili. Unless, as Putin claims, the US was pulling the strings the whole time. I would hope this is not true. Otherwise it sounds a whole lot (worse than/like) Gulf of Tonkin II, sorta. I just don't see an advantage to be gained from such activity, on our parts.
